All GTA 6 leaks revealed in 2022

After years of waiting, Rockstar finally gave fans what they wanted by announcing GTA 6 on February 4 this year. 

This only spawned a new batch of leaks for the game, similar to 2021 kicking off with a new collection of leaks. As of now, none of these are officially confirmed by Rockstar or other reliable sources.

However, the leaks are quite interesting and a large part of the fan base is convinced. This article explores all the leaks that have surfaced as of April 2022 this year.

5) Announcement prediction

One of the first leaks that gamers witnessed this year was by Tez2, a highly recognized and trusted name in the community. He stated on GTAForums that he believes Rockstar will announce the next Grand Theft Auto title very soon.

The statement was met with skepticism, but Tez2 had the last laugh when Rockstar announced the game the following month. This was done via a "Community Update" news article focusing mostly on the next-gen Grand Theft Auto 5 and ending with GTA 6.

4) Release date predictions

Immediately after the announcement predictions, Tez2 made another prediction, this time for a possible release date. According to him, Grand Theft Auto 6 could be released in late 2023 or early 2024. Tom Henderson, another trusted leaker who is well-liked in the community, takes a similar view.

Henderson had previously speculated on a 2024-25 release date, but has since updated that information and stated that 2024 could be the actual release year.

This can be evidenced by the fact that all of Rockstar's major releases follow a similar pattern. For games like GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2, there was a two-year delay between their reveal and release.

Meanwhile, Rockstar Mag creator Chris Klippel believes the game will be out by the end of 2024.

3) A highly detailed leak

There was another leak that was originally made on GTAForums which is likely to be fake given how many details it has. However, a few points mentioned in the leak were quite convincing, and that's only because a few prominent leaks have already revealed these details.

According to leaks, GTA 6 will be fully revealed by the end of this year and will be released in late 2023 or early 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. The leaker also stated that the game will take place in 1980s Florida with three playable characters, two male and one female.

The map will be much larger with Vice City and a few other towns based on real-world locations in Florida. The leak also mentioned the number of missions (90) and vehicles (400 at launch) and talked about a non-linear game with an empire building feature.

2) Take-Two patent leak

This should not be confused with last year's AI patent leak. The latest patent leak to come out this year is about multiplayer management in an online session. The patent describes a method that allows Rockstar to transfer a player from one session to another without having to wait for a loading screen.

It also means that a player flying from one region to another will automatically switch to a new session without any loading. This means that the map will be split into multiple sessions, giving the impression of having hundreds of players at the same time.

When a player moves to a different square on the map, they will be placed in a separate session with other participants. This may indicate that the map in GTA 6 is so large that a method is needed to make the session look more built-in than it can handle.

1) Leaks of Matheus Victor

Last year, Tom Henderson came to the fore after making several convincing leaks throughout the year. This year, it seems that the position was taken by Matheus Victor, a popular member of the GTA community. It does reveal a lot of information about the game, although many are skeptical of its claims.

It revealed some in-game soundtracks from radio stations that were allegedly for the next game. This included songs by the Pet Shop Boys, Caribou, Santigold, Rihanna, and Eminem. He also stated that the story will feature two playable heroes, a brother and sister duo, and the map will include Brazil, Cuba and Vice City.

He recently confirmed a popular fan theory stating that an out of place picture in GTA San Andreas Definitive Edition is indeed from GTA 6.
