Elden Ring All Mandatory Patrons and Their Positions

There are many bosses to defeat in Elden Ring, but only some need to be made for the story. Here are all the mandatory bosses in Elden Ring.

The Lands In Between face many challenges along your journey as the Tarnished. However, some challenges are completely optional.

While it's a good idea to beat optional bosses, especially those with early game weapons, they aren't necessary.

But if you just want to advance the story, here are the bosses you must defeat to reach the end of the game.

Which Bosses Are Required in Elden Ring?

Elden Ring has a minimum total of 12 mandatory bosses that you must defeat before completing the game.

Before you get on the list, you need to kill two shardbearers (Great Rune Bearers) to advance the story. You can choose any of the two, but some have an extra boss that must be defeated before them.

• Radagon's Red Wolf, then Rennala, Queen of the Full Moon (Raya Lucaria Academy, Liurnia of the Lakes)
• Godskin Noble, later Rykard, Lord of Curses (Mount Gelmir)
• Starscourge Radahn (Fortress Redmane, Caelid)
• Dragon Tree Sentinel (Capital Edges, Leyndell)*
• Godfrey, Lord First Hand (Golden Shadow) (Royal Capital, Leyndell)
• Morgott, Omen King (Elden Throne, Leyndell)
• Giant of Fire (Forge of Giants, Mountaintops of Giants)
• Godskin Duo (Dragon Temple Altar, Shattered Farum Azula)
• Black Sword Maliketh (Crumble Farum Azula)
• Sir Gideon Ofnir, All-Knowing (Royal Capital, Leyndell)
• Godfrey, Lord First Hand / Hoarah Loux (Queen's Bedchamber, Leyndell)
• Radagon of the Golden Order (Elden Throne, Leyndell) (First stage of Final Boss)
• Elden Beast (Elden Throne, Leyndell) (The Last Boss)

The Draconic Tree Sentinel is a boss that, while not technically necessary to complete the story, is blocking the way to Leyndell. But there is another way, there are more bosses and it is not so clear. Making the Draconic Tree Sentinel the fastest route.
