Elden Ring: How to Complete the Knight Bernahl Questline?

While completely avoidable, Knight Bernahl's questline might save you some trouble in future boss fights. 

Here's how to complete Knight Bernahl's questline in Elden Ring.

However, the Godskin Duo boss fight and the Black Blade boss fight Maliketh can be made easier by completing the Knight Bernahl questline.

Here's how to complete the Knight Bernahl questline in Elden Ring and earn the Blasphemous Claw reward as well as other great loot!

Knight Bernahl's First Position

You'll first find Knight Bernahl quite early in the game in the Warmaster's Shack in Limgrave.

You should visit Knight Bernahl during the daytime, especially if you're at the beginning of the game because there's a Bell Bearing Hunter that only comes in at night. It's pretty tough, so try to avoid it.

Talk to him and he will ask you a question. Choose “My faith is firm” and he will be satisfied. Ashes of War sells it, so you can buy from it if you need it!

However, you will need to progress through the game before progressing through the mission.
Volcano Manor and Recusant Bernahl For

the next step in the quest, you will need to go to Volcano Manor.

Knight Bernahl, now known as Recusant Bernahl, can be found here. Complete the first two assassination contracts for Volcano Manor and talk to him again. He will give you the Letter to Bernahl, asking for your help with two objectives.

If you agree to do so, you can find the Vargram the Raging Wolf and Errant Sorcerer Wilhelm duo in Leyndell, the Royal Capital, east of the Altus Plateau. The Invasion Call sign can be found near the Fortified Manor on Grace's First Floor.

After killing these targets, return to Volcano Manor. If you talk to the Recusant Bernahl again, he'll give you Gelmir's Fury spell.

Continue the Volcano Manor questline until you defeat Lord of Blasphemy Rykard. Return to Volcano Manor and talk to Recusant Bernahl again.
You will need to progress further in the game by reaching Recusant Bernahl

Here you will encounter the Godskin Duo. If you find the Dragon Temple Transept of Grace Site, you can head down the narrow stairs towards the boss fight to summon the Recusant Bernahl to assist you in the battle.

With the Godskin Duo defeated (sadly, they are a mandatory boss), you're almost done with the questline.

Now you aim at a tower where the end of the questline will happen and you can earn the Blasphemous Claw.

Go Near the Grace Great Bridge Area. Go up the stairs and then turn left. Then proceed towards the temple.

After entering the temple, go straight and turn right. Go through the door and climb the ladder. Recusant Bernahl will soon invade you.
Upon defeating the Knight Bernahl Mission Series Rewards

, Recusant Bernahl will drop the Beast Champion armor set, Devourer's Scepter, Bernahl's Ball Bearing, and most importantly, the Blasphemous Claw.

The Blasphemous Claw is very helpful in the Black Blade boss fight Maliketh, the next boss to beat on your list.

Allows you to dodge some of the second-tier attacks that can't usually be avoided. While it's still a tough boss, at least it'll be a little easier now!
