Elden Ring: How to Complete the Rya Questline?

If you want to complete all the big quests in Elden Ring, you need to complete Rya's questline!

Missing parts or even full questlines are common in Elden Ring. As always with FromSoftware games, their information and stories are hidden behind NPCs and complex quests.

Gamers are usually used to it. However, even with adequate preparation, some Elden Ring missions are beyond the usual level of complexity expected from a Soulslike.

Often times, you will find that you need additional resources to keep track of tasks. Call it an old-fashioned pen and paper or an online guide, help is almost essential at Elden Ring.

Rya's questline in Elden Ring is no exception to this rule, and we've given you all the help you need to complete her story!

How to Complete Rya's Questline in Elden Ring – Locations and Guide

1. Find Rya

You can find Rya in the pavilion next to the Scenic Isle Site of Grace in Liurnia of the Lakes. If you haven't visited Lakes Liurnia yet, you can bypass Stormveil Castle to reach this location.

The scenic Grace Island Area is located in the southern part of the lake. You can easily find it by following the path pointed by grace from the first Blessing Site you visit in this region.

While talking to Rya, she will offer to listen to her request. While her dialog is in progress, select “Hear request” when prompted.

Note: If you've already talked to Tanith at Volcano Mansion before speaking to Rya in this location, you may have skipped this quest entirely.

2. Get Rya's Necklace and Get the Volcano Mansion Invitation

After talking to Rya, she will ask for your help to get her necklace back.

You can find Rya's necklace at the Boilprawn Shack in Liurnia of the Lakes after meeting with the Blackguard Great Boggart.

Select the "Give me the necklace" dialog option while talking to him. After that, you can buy the necklace from him for 1000 runes.

You can also fight this NPC for the necklace. Although Blackguard has its own questline, this is not recommended.

After you get the necklace, go back to Rya's location and give it to her. After that, exhaust the dialog options to get the Volcano Manor Invitation.

3. Find Rya on the Altus Plateau and Talk to Tanith

• After you return Rya's necklace, you can find it in two places on the Altus Plateau * depending on how you got to this location:
• At the top of the Dectus Grand Lift
• Near the Erdtree-Gazing Hill Grace Site in Lux Ruins

Once you find Rya, talk to her and select the “Hold Rya's hand” dialog option and let her take you to the Volcano Mansion.

When you arrive at Volcano Manor, talk to Tanith and select the "Join Volcano Manor" dialog option.

*Note: If you can't find Rya in any of the above locations, you can go directly to Volcano Manor and talk to Tanith to continue the quest.

4. Get First Target Request and Defeat Old Knight Istvan at Volcano Manor

After speaking with Tanith at Volcano Manor, he will give you the Guest Room Key. Use this key to open the second door to the left of the corridor connected to Tanith's room.

Here you will find Rya once again. You can talk to him until you exhaust his dialogue. On the table in Rya's room, you will see an item with a purplish glow.

Get this item to receive the Letter from Volcano Manor. This letter is a Destination Request marking the location of the Old Knight Istvan on your map.

Fast travel to Warmaster's Shack in northern Limgrave to reach the mark on your map.

Interact with the Red Summon Mark and defeat the Old Knight Istvan to get the Scaled Armor and return to Volcano Mansion.

5. Get Second Target Request and Defeat Rileigh the Idle

As soon as you return to Volcano Manor, talk to Tanith to receive the Magma Shot Incantation as a reward. To repopulate the area, sit on the mansion's Grace Estate.

You should now be able to open the second door on the right in the corridor connected to the room where Tanith is located.

Enter this room and meet Rya as she is apt, Zorayas The Serpent Born. End your dialogue and continue talking to Tanith.

Select the “Form of Zorayas” dialog option while talking to Tanith. After that, go to the room where you received the first Target Request and get the second one from the same table.

You should now see the target's mark on your map. The next target is Idle Rileigh, located in the northern region of the Altus Plateau.

This location is located on the Grand Lift of Dectus Grace Estate.

Once again, interact with the red Summon Mark and defeat Rileigh the Idle to get Crepus's Vial Talisman. Return to Volcano Mansion.

6. Go to the Prison Town Church

When you return to Volcano Manor, speak to Tanith once more to let them know that you have defeated Rileigh. He will give you the Serpentbone Blade as a reward.

Also, it will now reveal who is the real ruler of the mansion. To reload the game, sit on the Grace Site and go to Rya's room to talk to her.

At this point in Rya's questline in Elden Ring, he would be present int human form. Consume his dialogue and it will hint at a hidden area in the mansion.

Go to the first room on the right in the hallway and knock on the imaginary wall in the right corner of this room to reveal a secret path.

Continue on this road until you reach the Prison Town Church Site of Grace. There are several enemies on the way, so be careful. Once here, open the doors on the opposite side of the Church.

7. Go to Grace's Guestroom Site

After opening the Prison Town Church, return to Rya and talk to her. While talking to him, select the “Tell him about the dark side of Volcano Manor” dialog option.

Immediately after talking to Rya, go to the main room and talk to Tanith until you have exhausted her dialogue. Now, fast travel to the Prison Town Church Grace District.

From this point, keep moving towards the door you just opened. Taking this road to the right will eventually take you to the Grace's Guest Hall Site.

Guest Hall Location at Elden Ring

Getting to this location is a little difficult. You can reach the Guest Hall as follows: As
soon as you exit the door, take the road to the right, where the Summoning Pool is located.
Continue this path through some roofs. When you reach the ledge, jump onto the roof on the right.
Go down, climb the stairs and take the road to the left. You should see the snake enemy in front of the door.
Don't come through this door! Instead, take the small stairs on the left and climb the ladder right in front of them.
Immediately after climbing the ladder, you will see a tower on the roof of this building. Go around the turret until you see the opening and jump in.
As soon as you get off, you should see a red flag door next to it, follow this path and go down the stairs.
Take the door on the left and continue this path until you reach a room with three doors. The Grace Guest Lounge Site is at the door on the right.

8. Reach Eiglay Shrine and Defeat the Godskin Noble Boss

The road to Eiglay Shrine is not long, but the area is a bit open and you can easily get lost.

Here's how to get to the Eiglay Shrine to progress through Rya's questline in the Elden Ring:
After exiting the Guest Hall Site of Grace's room, enter the door that leads to an open area with metal railings on both walls and surrounded by magma.
Release in a safe area surrounded by magma.
Keep going north past some slugs and an angel snake statue and jump onto a rooftop.
Take the left side of the roof, continue on this path, jump onto a circular roof and climb up the narrow roof path. Watch out for the enemy at the end of this narrow section.
After reaching the end of the narrow road, jump to the left where there is a small arena with snake enemies.
Take the elevator to the left of the arena and when you reach the top, go up the stairs. There is a powerful enemy on these stairs, so be extra careful.
Before going through the main gate guarded by the two angel snake statues, go through the small passage on the left next to one of the statues and run this branch. Activating this lever creates a hyperlink that provides a shortcut to the Prison Town Church.
Get well and get ready now! As soon as you enter the room guarded by the two angel snake statues, you'll be at the Eiglay Shrine. In this position, you need to defeat the Godskin Noble boss.

Defeat the Godskin Noble boss to get Godskin Stitcher and Noble Presence Incantation as rewards.

After defeating him, rest in the Grace Estate and receive the Serpent's Amnion located on the altar of the temple.

9. Take Forgetfulness Tonic

Return to Rya and talk to her at Volcano Manor. As you progress through its dialogue, select the “Give Snake Amnion” option.

Rest in a Field of Blessing to reload the realm, and Rya should now be in her next location. As soon as this happens, talk to Tanith and select the “Absence of Zorayas” option when prompted.

After that, talk to Tanith a second time. After a few lines of dialogue he will give you the Forgetfulness Tonic and ask you to hand it over to Rya.

10. Find Rya in Her New Place

Here's how you can find Rya in her new location:

• Fast travel to Eiglay Temple Grace Site.
• Use the elevator on the southeast side of the temple.
• Continue down this path and jump into this area as soon as you see a Summoning Pool below.
• Follow the road and jump onto the left road below right after some lava slugs.
• Continue on this path and after a short while you should see what appears to be a tower submerged in lava after a narrow path.
• Follow the narrow path and you will soon encounter a virgin. There should be a window opening on the side of the tower after the maiden. Jump through this opening.
• Leave this room through the door, defeat or pass the snake enemy and go up the stairs.
• Enter through the right arched door leading to a small bridge.
• Go to the upper left corner of the bridge. You should see a small piece of safe land surrounded by lava below. Carefully descend into this area and this step is very important, defeat the maiden in front of you! If you can't defeat this enemy, you are likely to kill Rya in the room next to where you landed.
• After defeating this maiden, enter the room next to where you landed and you should find Rya there.

11. Choose Your Path in Rya's Elden Ring Questline

Once you find Rya, you can choose how you want to progress in this quest. There are three possible outcomes, depending on how you manage this next meeting with Rya.

• After interacting with him, Rya tells you that he wants you to end his life. When this dialog ends, the three options you have are:
• At this point, kill Rya, finish the quest early and get Daedicar's Woe Talisman as a reward. This Talisman increases the damage you take. (The most tragic ending)
• Talk to him one more time and give him the Forgetfulness Tonic. This will continue the quest to some extent and you can then get Deadicar's Woe Talisman.
• Talk to him, avoid giving him the Forgetfulness Tonic and leave him alive. After a few extra steps, you'll find Deadicar's Woe Talisman and Zorayas' Letter at this location. (Least tragic ending)

This guide will continue assuming you choose the second or third option in the list above.

12. Get the Red Letter

After choosing which path you took in Rya's questline in Elden Ring, return to Volcano Manor. Visit the room where the desk from which you received the previous Goal Requests is located.

At this point, you should see another item in this table. Get it to get the Red Letter. This letter marks the location of the Blood Knight Juno Hoslow on your map.

Juno Hoslow is located on the Hills of Giants' Mountain, your next location in this quest.

13. Go to the Giants' Heights

Reaching the Mountain Peaks of the Giants is no easy task; Getting there will take time and will have to face one of the game's main Demi-God bosses.

This is a brief explanation of how to reach the Mountain Peaks of the Giants:

• Ideally you need two Great Runes, one from Grafted Godrick and one from Rennala Queen of the Full Moon.
• Royal Capital of Travers Leyndell.
• Defeat the Omen King Morgott. Best strategy to defeat Morgott the Omen King in Elden Ring.
• At this point Melina will give you the Rold Medallion so you can activate the Grand Lift of Rold to reach the Giants Mountaintops.

14. Defeat Juno Hoslow, Knight of Blood

Once you reach the Mountain Tops of the Giants, you can head north until you reach the Ancient Snow Valley Ruins Grace Zone.

From this Site of Grace, you can travel northwest until you reach the mark on the map where Juno Hoslow is located.

Hint: Juno Hoslow is just east of Shack of the Lofty.

To battle Juno Hoslow, interact with and defeat the red summoning marker. After defeating this enemy, you will receive the Hoslow Armor and Hoslow's Petal Whip.

Return to Volcano Manor once more after your victory.

15. Defeat the Volcano Mansion Lord

Talk to Tanith when you return to Volcano Mansion. As a reward for defeating Juno Hoslow, he will give you the Taker's Cameo Talisman.

At this point, Tanith will offer you to see the Lord of Volcano Manor. It is ideal to complete the requests of Patches and Recusant Bernahl before accepting his request .

If you want to complete these quests, simply select the “Seeing the Lord” dialog option while talking to Tanith.

You can find both of these NPCs in Volcano Manor. Fulfilling his wishes will reward you with the following items: When you

complete these requests or decide to skip them, you can talk to Tanith and select the “See the Lord” option from his dialog.

This will take you to the arena where you will encounter the God-Eating Snake; The second stage in the battle is the Blasphemous Lord Rykard.

Expert Tip: Before moving onto this battlefield, there is a weapon on the left, the Snake Hunter. If you have the right specs, equip and use this weapon for this boss fight. This will make it much more manageable.

By defeating Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy will reward you with the Blasphemous Memorial.

You can trade this Souvenir for Rykard's Hatred Sorcerer or Blasphemy Sword at the Roundtable Hold

16. Meet Rya at Elden Ring and End the Quest Series

After defeating Rykard, go to the last place you found Rya. At this point, you will have your last chance to give him the Forgetfulness Tonic.

Here are three possible outcomes of Rya's questline in Elden Ring at this point:

• Kill Rya:
• Kill Rya and collect Daedicar's Woe Talisman as a reward.
• Do not give the Forgetfulness Tonic to Rya:
• Select the “Export” dialog option.
• Continue reloading the domain by resting on a Grace Site or quitting and loading the game.
• Return to where you found Rya and collect Daedicar's Woe Talisman and Zorayas' Letter.
• Give Rya Forgetfulness Tonic:
• Select the “Give Forgetfulness Tonic” dialog option.
• Fast travel to Volcano Manor and talk to every NPC.
• Reload the field. Every NPC should now be gone from Volcano Manor.
• Find Rya in her usual spot at Volcano Manor and exhaust her dialogue.
• Reload the area once again and collect Daedicar's Woe Talisman where Rya used to be.

After a long grind, you must have completed Rya's questline in Elden Ring!
