How to claim Overwatch 2 beta access during OWL's opening weekend?

The beta of Overwatch 2 finally arrived on April 26 and will run until May 17. 

Viewers who watch the game on Twitch on April 27 and gain access to the beta can start as soon as they use their keys.

Fortunately, this won't be the first and last wave of beta keys released for Blizzard's new title. A second wave of beta keys is being released via YouTube by the Overwatch League (also known as "OWL"). This means another chance to play the new hero Sojourn

To celebrate Season 5, up to 1,500 Overwatch 2 beta keys will be awarded every hour in select matches.

How and when can you claim Overwatch 2 in May 2022 during OWL's opening weekend?

Viewers who haven't yet joined the beta should do so now on the official Overwatch website and try to claim a beta key during the Overwatch League's opening weekend. Here are the available matches:

• Los Angeles Gladiators vs. New York Excel: May 5 at noon PT (Pacific)
• Vancouver Titans vs. Boston Uprising: May 6, 13:30 PT (Pacific)
• Washington Justice vs. Toronto Defiant: May 7 at noon PT (Pacific)
• Florida Mayhem vs. Paris Eternal : 8 May 13:30 PT (Pacific)

Viewers must watch for at least 1 hour to get a chance to get a beta key. While it will release 1,500 keys every hour, it is not guaranteed. The best strategy is to watch every live broadcast if possible.

However, to be eligible to claim a key, viewers must:

stream Overwatch League on YouTube (via PC, YouTube app, or YouTube mobile website)

Link YouTube account to Blizzard account

1. To link a YouTube account to a Blizzard Account, users can follow these steps: Step 1: Log in to YouTube and click the profile icon in the top right. Select Settings from the drop-down menu.
2. Step 2: Select Connected Apps on the left.
3. Step 3: Find Battle.net from the list and select CONNECT.

Unfortunately, only PC players can access the Overwatch 2 beta at this time. Console users will have to wait for Blizzard to open beta on consoles.
