Lost Ark: Necromancer's Origin bosses and mechanic guide
Lost Ark: Necromancer's Origin bosses and mechanic guide
Looking for help with Necromancer's Origin Abyssal Dungeon boss mechanics in Lost Ark? Necromancer's Origin presents the first real challenge in Tier 1, the Lost Ark endgame, which combines wiping mechanics and soft rage timers that will make all MMO veterans sweat. Necromancer's Origin represents the challenges to come better than Demon Beast Canyon, but if you and your group can handle it, you can take on anything. If you and your crew need help with the mechanics or want to help your matchmaking party survive, this guide is here to help.
Lost Ark Necromancer's Origin: Revived Garum mechanics
Reanimated Garum is the first boss of Necromancer's Origin and introduces the game's first erasure mechanic. Most of Garum's attacks are quite telegraphic and easy to avoid. The difficulty lies in Death Marks.
Garum periodically emits a red hit that applies a Death Mark to all players and is marked by a floating red dot above your head. These marks pile up and have no effect initially. However, if any player scores a fifth, the entire group dies instantly and you have to restart the fight.
Each time Garum applies markers, a golden orb will appear in one corner of the arena on your minimap, marked with a golden dot. Interacting with the orb will consume it to clear all Death Marks from the player using it. However, each orb can only be used once, so your team will need to coordinate to prevent any of them from hitting five Death Mark stacks.
The easiest way to do this is to assign everyone a number from one to four. Since your group health bars on the left side of the screen are already assigning numbers, you can use them to keep it simple. Once the fight begins, have your party use the orb in numerical order from one to four, then repeat until the fight is over. After the first loop, you'll know it's your turn when you reach four Death Mark stacks. As soon as the fourth mark appears above your head, clear the debuff to keep your party alive.
Necromancer's Origin Abyssal Dungeon: Sigmund the Immortal mechanics
Sigmund the Immortal offers gamers the first "soft anger timer". Unless you're an MMO vet, that actually means Sigmund the Immortal gets harder and harder the longer the fight gets. And if you and your team don't implement its mechanics correctly, it can take forever.
The first time Sigmund gets close to 0 HP, he will fire a red or white explosion in the arena. At that moment, two orbs, one red and one white, will appear in each corner of the arena. Your team must interact with each orb that matches the color of the explosion. If done correctly, Sigmund will respawn with around 1.5 million HP. If an orb is missed or someone interacts with the wrong color, it will come to life with much more.
Drop Sigmund back to 0 and this mechanic will repeat. If you execute properly again, Sigmund will die forever and the war will end. If you fail or fail the first round, it will once again come back with more health. Each time Sigmund respawns, he gains damage and attack speed, making the fight more challenging. This is the anger timer you are facing. The longer you allow the war to continue, the harder it will be to survive. You will need to do the mechanic correctly twice to kill Sigmund permanently.
The best way to deal with this mechanic is to give each player a corner. When Sigmund "dies", everyone must know exactly where to go, making sure all four orbs have been addressed. I would also recommend asking everyone to write down the color of the explosion in the party chat to avoid any confusion. It's easier than you think to miss the flash amid the rush of attacks and other particle effects. Save your team a headache and make sure everyone is on the same page. If you run it correctly, you will only have to deal with a single animation.
Sigmund also introduces players to the first true 'confusion control'. Every now and then, Sigmund will begin a powerful area attack, drawing energy from his surroundings. As soon as this happens, you will see a yellow bar below it. Your team must deal enough staggering damage to break the bar or Sigmund will unleash a massive shockwave that could potentially wipe out your party. We recommend bringing Whirlwind Grenades for extra surprising damage when things get rough.
