Renewal Grasps and Loreley Splendor will be nerfed in Destiny 2 PvP
Nearly two months after The Witch Queen's release, Destiny 2 has already seen a multitude of gameplay style tweaks surrounding new exotics. However, very few people have been making news in PvP lately for their ridiculous exploits in competitive Crucible matches.
Hunter's Renewal Grasps Gauntlet is known for generating damage resistance fields in a huge radius, while Loreley Splendor increases any damage done by sunspots. However, Bungie finally addressed this issue when Destiny 2 Community Manager dmg04 took to Twitter on April 11.
Both of these exotics maxed out some of the Stasis Hunters and Solar Titans' abilities, shifting the balance of teamfights. A recent tweet from Bungie confirmed the changes that will be brought to the game's sandbox in the future.
Regarding the upcoming changes, Destiny 2's Community Manager said:
The Armor team is monitoring PvP and investigating setting changes in Renewal Grasps. We hope to have more information later this season. Stay tuned for more.
After being asked about Titan's exotic Loreley Splendor Helmet, he said: "
The team is looking into it, too.
The Renewal Grasps were known to take over a large part of the map at the start of each round, especially in the Trials and Survival playlists. Smashing the Duskfield crystal grants ability regen and grants Hunters another grenade on the same turn. On the other hand, Loreley Splendor removes a sunspot after the wearer is injured.
The sunspot then further increases the damage done by the wearer,
According to Bungie's announcement, the change will only apply to PvP, as no game-breaking exploits have been reported in PvE. With additional information and official patch notes for the second episode of Season 16, everyone can wait for these geeks to arrive next season.
