Enter New Space in Genshin Impact: How to solve the puzzle in easy steps

The latest Archon Quest Interlude Chapter: Perilous Trail has unlocked all chapters of the story in Genshin Impact.

In the fourth episode of the Dangerous Trail, "End of the Line" will allow players to enter a new area called the "Snaring Illusions Zone". Here they will need to solve a puzzle about time to find an exit.

Players will constantly have to deal with the flow of time within the space to solve the puzzle. All of this can be done by moving the Fantastic Compass's needle and going through a door that players will find within the new area.

When players enter the "Real of Wheezing Illusions", they will find two compasses and a small entrance that leads to a place.

Players can use the compass to travel to the past or future by moving the needle forward or backward. Each time the needle of the compass moves, the door will lead to a new gap. Players must enter and explore a new area to solve the puzzle and find an exit.

Note that there will be times when multiple cutscenes will trigger, and players will have to battle enemies with trial characters just for the sake of story.

The game and interactions with other characters will have subtle clues to help players solve the puzzle. However, it's also easy for players to overlook it if they don't pay enough attention.

Follow these simple instructions to solve the "Enter New Area" area puzzle:
Stage 1

Fight waves of enemies with a trial version of Yanfei so players can interact with the Fantastic Compass. Move the compass needle forward and go through the door to enter the next space.
Step 2

Fight against multiple Fatui Skirmishers with a trial version of Yanfei and Yelan. Interact with Yelan and go through the door to the next space. Players need to move the needle forward to move to the next space.

If the compass is blocked by a tree, move the needle back to the previous space and destroy the tree sapling.
Stage 3

In the next area, players will have to fight a trial version of Xiao against Bosacius, the illusions of Electro Yaksha. Keep hitting the purple entity until the battle is over.

Enter the new area and move the compass needle backwards twice before going through the door again. The compass will be blocked by a locked tunnel door. Players need to return to their previous area and pull the lever to open the tunnel door.
Step 4

Enter a new area to find yourself in the Abyss. A small cutscene will be played and the Travelers will see their twin appear and flee deeper into the Abyss. Keep following the twin until another cutscene is triggered.

Players will then find an object lying inside the Abyss. Take the object and leave the area. A valuable treasure chest will spawn near the area exit, so players should remember to open the chest before leaving.
