God of War: Ragnarok release date could possibly be announced next week
Fans have been waiting for a long time to learn the release date of God of War: Ragnarok. While it has been confirmed that the game will be released in 2022, the developers have not yet given any information about the game's release date.
With a no-show at Summer Game Fest, players were worried whether the game would be delayed again. But if the industry cred and rumors are to be believed, the wait for the release date could end next week.
God of War: Ragnarok may finally have an official release date in the last week of June
Cory Barlog, the creative director of Santa Monica Studio, teases when fans are asked about any updates to the game. Leading industry veteran on Twitter, The Snitch, posted a GIF of Kratos nodding with a series of numbers appearing on the screen.
The binary equivalent of the number string "11110" shown in the GIF is the number 30. With the barlog's sarcasm, fans are speculating that God of War: Ragnarok's release date will be announced on June 30 at a special PlayStation State of Play or similar event.
Last month, The Snitch set a star record for correctly qualifying the State of Play June list, citing a remake of Hideo Kojima's upcoming horror game Overdose and The Last of Us Part I. Therefore, this news is very likely to be true.
God of War fans are sifting through every piece of information available in the title to gather any subtle indications of when the next showcase will be. A Bloomberg report stated that the game will be released in November this year.
Santa Monica Studio and Sony's upcoming action-adventure game will be the sequel to the critically acclaimed God of War (2018), which kicked off the Scandinavian cycle of the long-running series set in ancient Scandinavia. Players will follow Kratos and his son Atreus as they deal with the consequences of Norse mythology's pre-known catastrophic event of the same name.
Ragnarok was triggered by the murder of Baldur, the God of the Aesir, which took place in the previous title. The sequel will take place three years after the previous game, in which Fimbulwinter ended. Kratos and Atreus will explore nine realms seeking to prevent Ragnarok as they battle the Norse God of Thunder Thor and the vengeful Freya.
God of War: Ragnarok will be available for PlayStation 4 and 5. It will be a finale of the series' Scandinavian cycle. Fans are eagerly awaiting more information and hope that next week will bring good news.
