What is the release date of NieR: Automata - The End of YoRHa Edition?
NieR: Automata was a huge success thanks to its gripping mix of intense action gameplay and emotional storyline. The second game in the NieR series has received a sequel in NieR: Replicant, along with many DLCs. However, some players are waiting for the game on a certain console.
Many NieR: Automata fans playing games on Nintendo Switch have been waiting for the game to arrive for a while. Fortunately, in the latest Nintendo Direct, the publisher confirmed that the hit action game from PlatinumGames is coming to Switch on October 6, 2022, under the new edition of the game known as NieR: Automata- The End of YoRHa Edition.
What can fans expect from NieR: Automata's Switch port?
In addition to bringing the base game to Nintendo Switch, The End of YoRHa Edition also provides NieR players with available DLCs such as the "3C3C1D119440927" content release. This DLC includes cosmetic items for the game's characters, an arena game mode, and a story that follows the life of a machine called Plato1728. However, to enjoy this DLC, players will need to progress through the game until the content is unlocked.
In addition to the existing DLC content, it looks like buyers will also be given console-exclusive costumes. These include all-white outfits for the 2B and 9S characters, as well as a traditional Japanese outfit for 2B with a Kitsune mask. These new skins will not need to be unlocked in the same way as the DLC, so players will have access to them from the beginning of the game if they wish.
Players who haven't had the chance to experience NieR: Automata on other platforms should consider getting the game. Players will follow a group of man-made androids and their battle against otherworldly machines prone to destruction. This title offers intense and technically demanding gameplay similar to other PlatinumGames entries like Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
However, players can also expect a hybrid mix of RPG elements. When it comes to story, players will face themes that follow identity, determinism, struggle, existentialism and an extinct humanity
It looks like PlatinumGames learned some hard lessons about optimizing the game on the way to The End of YoRHa Edition. Automata's PC port was riddled with gameplay and visual glitches that caused more than a few complaints from fans. That said, the trailer for the Switch port looks remarkably clean in comparison.
We'll see how The End of YoRHa Edition continues, but considering the original title sold over six million copies, it probably has a dedicated fan base ready and willing to dive into the game once again.
