Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak brings loads of new content to the latest game in Capcom's beloved action RPG series. Like the previous game's Iceborne, Sunbreak is a massive expansion with new and old monsters, locations, and gear for veterans and newcomers alike.

Crafting is a big part of the franchise formula. Players must continually upgrade their gear and build new weapons to keep up with the game's challenges. Most of their crafting is taken from the bodies of slain monsters, but others must be found through digging, gathering or mining in the large open world.

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak players may already have some Meldspar in their inventories because it's been in the game since launch. There were two great locations for this rare element, but the new expansion has added a third.

Lava Caves are the most reliable spawn point for Meldspar Ore in the game. Take the narrow tunnels under the main area and approach every mining opportunity for a chance to find Meldspar.

The Flooded Forest also contains numerous outcrops that occasionally contain Meldspar. Players must navigate around landmarks eight, nine and 11 and regularly approach the cliffs marked on the map.

Finally, the expansion introduces the Citadel area, which includes Meldspar. Players have found Meldspar in almost every marked mining location in that area, so players should try looking there often.

Any player hoping to upgrade Meldspar should make sure he has at least three points in Geology. Also, bring some Palicos. It would be a shame to hit a rich vein and not be able to carry all the spoils of the enterprise. Palicos can carry extra items, so giving them Meldspar is a good way to ensure nothing goes to waste.

There are tons of gear in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak that requires several units of Meldspar Ore. Almost every upgrade path for a rig in the game will require players to go out and mine.

Many Master Rank missions will be next to impossible if players aren't using upgraded gear. Most upgrade paths, from armor sets to weapons, require between two and five units of Meldspar Ore.

Any player hoping to compete in the higher Master Tier challenges brought by the new expansion should upgrade their vehicles. Meldspar Ore is one of numerous upgrade materials to increase weapon and armor stats.

Any crafting recipe will require multiple ore units. Most will need five or more, so if players have a lot of pieces to upgrade, they will need to find a large amount of this rare material.
