Players can find the Steel Gajau Whisker material while on the Master Rank quest in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak.

The base game and Sunbreak expansion are packed with resources to find and quests to complete. Often, they go hand in hand with the resources needed to complete certain tasks.

Steel Gajau Whisker is one of these resources and can be quite difficult to obtain. Players will, of course, have to take down a Gajau and get the item from him after they are defeated.

The Steel Gajau Whisker can be brought back to the Elgado Outpost and used in the Smithy. It can also be given to NPCs who need it to complete a quest that grants the Palamute weapon.

Frost Islands is the best place to breed Steel Gajau Whiskers in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

A species of fish in the Monster Hunter world, the Gajau is not a large creature, which makes it difficult to encounter. It's not immediately obvious like some of the huge monsters in the game.

Here's how to encounter Steel Gajau Whisker:Start a Master Rank quest or Master Rank campaign.

Go to the Temple Ruins, Don Islands, Flooded Forest or Lava Caves.

Look for a body of water in the chosen location to hopefully find a Gajau.

Look for a Gajau fin out of the water to determine if it's there.

If one is spotted, rush to its location and use a gun to pull it out of the water.

Continue the battle with Gajau and kill him.

Carve the beast to start gaining resources from its body.

After doing all this, players will have to rely on luck. The Steel Gajau Whisker in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak has an incredibly low drop chance when collecting resources from a Gajau.

Players only have a 20% chance of finding a Steel Gajau Mustache after looting the monster. The fact that it can only be dropped on a Master Rank quest or expedition makes it even rarer.

The best place to try and breed Steel Gajau Whiskers in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is the Frost Islands. They are known to appear in almost any body of water in that location, so always get there first.

How to use the Steel Gajau Mustache

The main objective of the Steel Gajau Whisker in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is to turn it over to complete a mission. This quest provides players with a Palamute Silkbinder vehicle.

The mission is called "Palamute Gear Power Up". Researcher Gatlyn provides this quest at the Elgado Outpost. Talk to him about being assigned, and then go on a Master Rank quest or expedition.

Gatlyn will need two Steel Gajau Mustaches for the quest to be considered successful. With a low drop rate this can be tough, but players need to keep trying and persevering against flooded monsters.

Return to Researcher Gatlyn when two Steel Gajau Whiskers have been obtained. The quest will be tagged as completed and the Silkbinder upgrade will be granted to Palamute.
